The BigEData project  seeks to explore how social media is used in relation to education.

Currently, the use of the term and hashtag ‘MOOC’ and ‘#MOOC’ on Twitter are being investigated, involving an analysis of all tweets using those terms during the course of 2015.

It is hoped that the findings will allow the project’s collaborators to suggest answers to the following questions:

What are the prominent topics and themes in Twitter discussions about MOOCs?

Who are the main actors in these discussion networks?

How is the agenda for discussion set?
